Who I Am & Why I Film

I’m a senior at the University of Connecticut, majoring in film, with a focus on documentary storytelling. My work often explores histories and communities that are frequently overlooked, and I’m especially drawn to narratives rooted in Indigenous perspectives. This focus has shaped much of my experience, from creating a short piece on King Philip’s War to volunteering within the Cherokee Nation.

My documentary practice also includes archival research and conducting in-depth interviews, including a project centered on Bosnian genocide survivors. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to thoughtful, community-centered filmmaking work that highlights cultural identity, resilience, and the lived experiences of underrepresented groups.

Across each project, my goal is to broaden understanding and encourage meaningful dialogue by bringing forward stories with depth, history, and significance. I aim to continue expanding the reach of the communities I collaborate with, ensuring their voices and perspectives resonate with wider audiences.
